I love the innocence captured in this image!

It's definitely from an age that's forever gone.

Very earthy & sexy - just look at the expression on the girl's face, she looks like she's trying hard to control the emotions she evidently feels. Almost as if she does not want to let herself go.

I love her arm looking like she's guarding the dress from flaring out in her next move!

The bare feet & the hair!!! Talk about care-free!

I feel like I was born into the right profession in the wrong era! :-(

It was shot by Malian photographer, Malick Sidibe. He is noted for his black-and-whites of popular culture in the 1960s in Bamako.

Very nostalgic photography from a time lost.

That makes two of us! Mr. Sidibe's work evokes the energy of a time that I'm not sure can be captured again. Le chic of post-colonial Africa, where Africans felt like everything was for the taking. A romanticism. Just magical. What speaks more of hope then two beautiful young africans dancing away on the night before Christmas. Such innocence. <swoon>
